Four steps to getting connected
Joining a new church is awkward. We have tried to make the first steps small.
Come to a Sunday service
Nine or eleven. Sit in the back if you want to. Nobody will make you stand up.
Fill out a Connection Card
There are cards at the service, or you can send us a note through the contact page.
Come to a Get Connected meeting
A short meeting after a service where we explain how the church works and answer whatever you want to ask.
Join a Growth Group or a study
Men’s studies, women’s studies, and Growth Groups meet through the week. Sign-ups are on Planning Center.
Questions people ask before their first Sunday
What can I expect?
Worship, fellowship, a Bible teaching, and a chance to respond to it. The music, the language, and the style are contemporary. The roots are traditional, biblically speaking. When you arrive our team will meet you. If you have questions, look for the Welcome Booth on the patio, or follow the signs to kid check-in. Team members wear name badges.
Do I need to bring a Bible?
If you own one, bring it. We study through whole books, so the pastor will refer to it often and will probably encourage you to mark it up. If you do not have one, the ushers hand them out before the study begins, and if you would like a Bible of your own we will gladly give you your first one. Chuck teaches from the ESV. Any translation works, and plenty of people here read off a phone.
What should I wear?
Whatever you are comfortable in. On a given Sunday you will see jeans and t-shirts, shorts and flip flops, and the occasional sport jacket. You will fit in.
Where do my kids go?
We have invested heavily in kids ministry. Head to the Kids Ministry area and our volunteers will walk you and your children to the right classroom and through check-in. Every teacher and assistant has been through an application and background check and has been trained. Every classroom has at least two adults, and more as class size grows.
Is there a midweek service?
Not right now. Instead we point people toward Growth Groups and our other ministries. The aim is to live connected to God, to each other, and to the community all week long, mostly outside this building.
