What a week! As our nation struggled to come to grips with the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we’ve seen God do subtly amazing things. First off, thousands of Christians have been emboldened to stand up and let their voices be heard. Second, churches were packed with people who hadn’t darkened the door of a church in a long time. They were seeking answers to the senseless killings, and the Holy Spirit was drawing their hearts near to Jesus. At the same time, we have seen the callous rejoicing over his death be met with swift and severe repercussions. The church has been given a short window to minister to those who are lost and hurting over this tragedy. Let’s take advantage of this opportunity and show love to these people.
Our Hope Sunday is quickly approaching. This is one of my favorite things we do here as a church. Sunday, September 28th, after the 11 am service, we will have a BBQ and Baptism. It is a time to celebrate those making a public profession of their faith in Jesus by being baptized. Everyone is invited. We will provide the chicken and bread. All we ask is that you bring a side dish and dessert. If you would like to be baptized, we ask that you register in advance. You can do that here.
There is still time to join one of our small groups. Just show up at the appointed time and place. Our craft fair is coming up in two weeks. We need people to help with the set-up and tear-down. If you can do that, please reply to this email. Finally, we have created a new resource that makes all of the church resources available at your fingertips. It is called a microsite, and you can put in a prayer request, give to the church, register for events, find out what’s happening, and so much more. Please go and check it out here.
That’s it for now. See you on Sunday.
