I write today’s Pastor’s Update with a heavy heart. Twenty-four years ago, terrorists flew planes into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon, and thousands of people lost their lives. It changed our country forever. Yesterday, political pundit Charlie Kirk was assassinated for his political views (Transgender & Anti-facist were inscribed on the shell casings). It really doesn’t matter what your political views are; we are a country that has the right to freedom of speech, and he was killed because someone opposed that. We live in a country that is getting darker by the day. If we don’t have our hope in Jesus, the world will steal our peace and joy. At the same time, it is time for Christians to stand up and let their voices be heard. Charlie Kirk was a devoted Christian who not only lived his faith but spoke openly of our need for Jesus. Take up that mantle today and let your voice be heard.

There are a lot of big events happening in the next couple of weeks. Our small groups season starts today with a women’s study at 10 am and 6:30 pm. Our Men’s studies start next Tuesday. Many more are beginning or continuing in the next week. If Hope Chapel is your home church, I encourage you to consider joining a group. It will help you grow in faith, meet new people, and allow you to show the love of Christ to others.

Finally, our quarterly Volunteer lunch is this Sunday after the 11 am service in the Youth Room. We will provide lunch. This is for everyone who volunteers or is interested in volunteering. Our Men’s breakfast is this Saturday. Starts at 7:30 am and costs $5. Lastly, our Hope Sunday is in two weeks. We will have a BBQ chicken lunch, and all we ask is that you bring a side dish and dessert. We will also be doing a baptism, so if you would like to get baptized, please sign up here.

That’s all for now. See you Sunday,

Pastor Chuck
